I hesitated about doing this short post. One, I do not want to push this down your throat. Two, not everyone can afford to buy these products, even if they want to. And, three, maybe I am just being delusional about the results. Maybe I am just “wanting” there to be a change. So, I went through my photos and found these I took back in July. I had taken some in February or March when I first started with Rodan and Fields, but when I hooked up to my computer one day, they somehow went away, along with ALL the rest of my pictures I had taken on my phone for the last 3 years. I was not a happy camper. These pictures are of me. I took them in the same spot, but even thought I tried, it was hard to get the exact lighting and angle. I had seen plenty of before and after pictures on the internet, but I didn’t know those people and I didn’t know if they had “photoshopped” their results. Yes, some people might do that. The only editing I did, was to lightning the pictures, so that you can see them better. The best deal out there, is to sign up as a Preferred Customer. It is finally here, Friday….. That day we all look forward to, the one that makes all the rest of the days bearable. The truth is, I don’t do anything different on Friday than I do the rest of the week, but I know that it means I don’t have to get up early tomorrow. But since we never set an alarm clock, I get up the same time EVERY day. On Saturday you don’t have to get dressed up and put on makeup. You can just lay around the house in your pj’s and watch TV all day long. NOT!!!!!
Can you believe that October is almost here? It is just crazy to think how fast this year has gone. We have a Halloween party over at our local country club, and it just hit me today, that I needed to start looking for outfits for me and Joe. He says he is not dressing up, but he said that last year too. Lol!
Oatmeal. That is the first thing I thought of, when I looked at this picture. One of my children, and I can’t remember which, used to call oatmeal, mitt meal. It is a shame that your memory starts to go as you get older. It never fails, that the things you would like to remember, you forget. And, of course the things you want to forget, you always remember.
Just how high can you kick? That was the question Emersyn asked me the other day, so I decided to show her. She was not impressed! Lol! It was not easy to kick with a voluminous skirt and high heels. I just about knocked over the fern. Anything to keep the grandbaby entertained though. I hate hearing her whine.
We made it through another weekend. It went way too fast for me, how about you guys? It seems like I was really busy, but I can’t think of a thing I accomplished. Well, I did get out a few fall decorations, and I did clean out a cabinet that was stinky. I also got to spend a couple of hours with Emersyn, so I guess I had a good weekend after all.
I recently did a post where I spoke about coffee, and how we can relate our faith to a cup of coffee. Many of you commented that you loved the devotion, and I even heard back from one reader, where the devotion was used at her church. Her husband was doing the meditation devotional, and he referenced my blog post about the coffee. I bet that has to be the first time that a fashion blog was quoted in a church devotional. Lol!
Today, I want to continue along that theme and talk about how you drink your coffee? I know some of you are saying, “with cream or with sugar.” I am not talking about what is in your coffee, I am talking about what your coffee is “in.”
A couple weeks ago, we actually had this discussion about cups, and since it went so well with my coffee devotional, I decided to mention it you all of you. The first thing we do when we go to get coffee, is to grab a cup out of the cupboard. Have you even given it any thought as to what kind or type of cup you pull out? Stop right now and look at your cup, what can you tell me about the cup, and what does the cup tell me about you?
I like vintage items, and maybe “I” am a little vintage myself. I think of vintage items as having a deep connection to the past, and relishing all the sacrifices that have been made by our ancestors. There is no one who made a greater sacrifice for us, than Jesus Christ. He gave his life, so that you could live.
Connivence is the key here. Most of the time, if we are drinking out of a styrofoam cup, it is because we are on the run. We put our coffee in the styrofoam cup, and head out the door. We run to a drive-through, and grab a cup to take with us as we drive along. Hurry, hurry, hurry. We all hurry and rush around like everything would fall apart if we took an extra few minutes to just sit quietly and drink our coffee. The Bible talks a lot about taking the time to be with the Lord in his presence. Do we hurry through that process too? I admit I am guilty. There is NOTHING more important than taking the time to talk to the Lord and read his word, so why do I feel the urge to reach over and grab the phone to check emails?
Everyone knows about the solo cups, there has even been a country song made just about that cup. A lot of people use these cups to “hide” what they are drinking. It is obviously not something they are proud of, and they are trying to keep it hidden from the world. That applies to a lot of people in their lives too. Do you have things in your life that you would rather keep hidden from the rest of the world?
1/2 Full or 1/2 Empty:
We all know the 1/2 full or 1/2 empty meanings. It all depends upon your outlook on life. Are you optimistic or pessimistic? This also applies to our faith. Are you full of hope, and trust, or do you think there is no way you will ever be good enough? The Lord welcomes EVERYONE, he does not care about your looks, your money, your health, your color, or anything else. He only wants your obedience, your love, your devotion.
Have you ever seen someone who just beams? They have this light inside them, that shines so bright, it is noticeable. Their cup runneth over! These are people we want to be around, they exude love and kindness. The Lord’s light shines in them and through them. We all have heard the, “This little light of mine,” song, so let’s let it shine.
A huge trend is to have coffee cups with different sayings on them. I was looking through my cabinet, and I have all the free cups that have been given to me with different advertisements on them, but those aren’t the one’s that interested me. Instead, I wanted to see the one’s that I had purchased, or one’s that someone had given me. My favorite one’s are the one’s that the kid’s bought for me when they were young, that say “World’s Greatest Mom.” However, there are a couple other’s that speak volumes also, one says, “Don’t Bother Me I’m Crabby,” another says, “Don’t Let Anyone Dull Your Sparkle,” and the last one says, “It’s All About Me.” Those were all cups that were gifts, so what do those say about me as a person?
Making the choice of what we put our coffee in, is a simple choice. But, we as Christians are faced with lots of choices throughout the day. Did you choose to pray before you got out of bed, and thank the Lord for another day? Did you take some time to spend with the Lord in a morning devotional? Do you let his light shine in you? Whether you know it or not, someone is watching you, and the way you conduct yourself could have an impact on them. Let’s start making the right choice, starting with a simple coffee cup.
I love Fall!!! It is such a beautiful time of the year, especially when you live in the mountains. The air is crisp and clear, there is no summer haze anywhere to be found. The leaves are just now starting to turn colors, but it won’t be long before they are in their glory.
Okay ladies, I NEVER do this, but I just couldn’t help myself. You all know how much I love my Plunder Design jewelry, AND you know that Christmas is right around the corner. Plunder just announced today, that any one who signs up as a Plunder Design stylist, will receive three extra pieces in their kit for free! This is super huge for two reasons, 1. You will receive 13 pieces of of jewelry in your kit (cost 99.00) bringing the price per piece to $7.61! Are you kidding me…….. 2. Christmas is coming hard and fast, and this is the perfect time to be selling jewelry. It will be the easiest time of the year to introduce Plunder to all your friends.
If you have even thought about it just a little bit, don’t hesitate. This is a weekend only opportunity. They have not announced what the three extra pieces are, but everything they sell is great, so you can’t go wrong. Here is a list of the items that are regularly included in the start up kit: Anita necklace, Darius bracelet, Aggie earrings (favorite), Arianna necklace, Ada necklace (favorite), Mint earrings, Anthem necklace, Feather and Pearl bracelet (favorite), Nancy earrings, and the Frances bangle bracelet (favorite). Be sure to check out today’s other post, I had a two-fer! LOL!!!
K This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of JTV.com. I was paid for this post and recieved the jewelry pieces as compensation. The opinions and text are all mine.
When I was first contacted by JTV.com about an opportunity to do a sponsored post, I was super excited. I thought they must have emailed the wrong blogger, but I quickly responded that I was “all in” before they had time to catch their mistake. Lol!
Do you know about JTV.com? I already knew that they broadcasted live 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. But I was not aware at how many people they reached. Their show is broadcasted in over 86 million U.S households, and they are one of the leading retailers of jewelry and gemstones in the U.S.I was really surprised, when I found out that they originated from Greeneville, Tennessee. This is a small town just down the road from me.
“JTV’s mission is to uplift every woman by offering extraordinary products at extraordinary prices. It features 160 gemstone varieties, including exclusive brands found only on JTV.”
I have some very fond memories associated with JTV.com because of my mother-in-law, Melba. They say that women will pick a husband that is like their father, and that men will pick a wife that is like their mother. Melba loved to go to yard sales, loved to paint with watercolors and acrylics, loved vintage items, and really loved her jewelry. These are all traits that could easily be used to describe me. When I would go to visit her, I often found her watching television, and ordering jewelry. She ordered several items from JTV.com, and everything was always great quality.
I was offered the opportunity to pick out three items. After searching their website for days, I had a list of about 30 items. I just couldn’t decide because there were so many wonderful items to choose from. At first I thought about all the upcoming Fall Trends. Tassel jewelry is going to be huge this fall. This 5mm silver cultured freshwater pearl and 3. 87ctw Bella Luce® suede rhodium over sterling silver tassel necklace was one that was on my favorites list. Turquoise was also high on my list. It may be the boho vibe that I am feeling right now, but this bracelet with cabochon boulder Turquoise called my name. It was from the Artisan Collection of India. And the last Fall trend item that I was drawn to, but didn’t choose was this Michael Waterman fringe statement necklace. This necklace covered two upcoming fall trends, fringe and a statement necklace.
But, I kept thinking about Melba when I was making my first choice. She and I both had a love for Vintage jewelry, especially the Art Deco style jewelry, so my first choice was this necklace from the Titanic Jewelry Collection. Here is the description:
Titanic Jewelry Collection™, Emerald Cut, Princess Cut And Round White Crystal, Silver Tone Necklace. Drop Measures Approximately 1 & 11/16″l X 1 & 7/16″w. Necklace Measures Approximately 18 Inches In Length With A 2 Inch Extender And Lobster Claw Clasp Closure.
This necklace is so elegant, and my daughter has already borrowed it from me to wear to a wedding. When your daughter borrows your jewelry, you know that you’ve chosen well. You can stop rolling your eyes right now. I know that you are thinking, great for you Tania, but I can’t afford something that looks like that. You know I am all about affordability, so do you think you can afford $35.98?
I decided to try to find a bracelet that would match the necklace, but one that could also be worn alone. This adjustable bracelet was just what I was looking for. Here is the description:
. 50ctw baguette and round diamond, rhodium over sterling silver adjustable bracelet. Measures approximately up to 9″ L x 1/4″ W. Adjustable slide closure.
This bracelet was also worn to the wedding by my daughter. The easily adjustable bracelet clasp is so ingenious. This will fit the smallest wrist, to a plus sized wrist. So no worries if you are a petite lady, or one that is heavier, they have you covered.
Because the first two items were silver, I wanted to go with gold for my third choice. This third piece reminded me of the first bracelet Joe bought me over 20 years ago. Unfortunately, all my gold jewelry was taken by a former housekeeper years ago, so I no longer have that bracelet.
Gold looks elegant, but it can be worn with jeans or shorts. If I had only had one piece of jewelry, this gold bangle bracelet would be my choice. Bracelets are my obsession, they are easily worn by everybody. Here is the description:
Moda Al Massimo™ 18k Yellow Gold Over Bronze Swiss Cut Flex Bangle. Measures Approximately 3/4 Of An Inch In Width And Has A Hidden Box Clasp. Made In Italy.
To me jewelry is more than just an accessory. It brings warm memories of the person gifting me the item, or of an occasion when it was worn. Melba is no longer with us, but the memory of her love of jewelry will always be with me. I am passing along my love of jewelry to my daughter and granddaughters.
I can’t wait to see the memories that are made with my new items. Thanks JTV.com for reaching out to me! I hope we get to work together again, I have a lot more items on my list. LOL!
