CAN YOU DANCE THE CHARLESTON

50 IS NOT OLD | CAN YOU DANCE THE CHARLESTONIs it hump day already? Where has this week gone? It is flying by, and so has this summer. This weekend is Labor Day, the “official” end of summer.😢 I like fall and all it’s rich colors, and I LOVE Christmas, but I HATE cold. I freeze all the time, even yesterday I had the heat on under my desk at work. You can imagine how well I do in the winter.50 IS NOT OLD | CAN YOU DANCE THE CHARLESTONIt will be goodbye to pedicures, I just can’t see spending the money for something no one will see. It will be goodbye to shorts, and sleeveless tops. I am getting depressed just typing this, I need to move on. On the bright side, I see that ankle booties are still going to be “in” this year, so that makes me happy. I bought a couple of little dresses over the weekend (you’ll see them later next month) and they looked adorable with ankle boots. 50 IS NOT OLD | CAN YOU DANCE THE CHARLESTONI have my hair tucked behind my ears, and it changes the way I look. Joe liked it the day I wore it this way, but when I was showing him these pictures, he said it didn’t even look like me. Haha I just think I look really “toothy”, I never knew I grinned so big. Lol! Anyway, what do you think about this chiffon vest? I bought it with fall in mind. The darker colors kind of put me in a fall-ish mood, so I was thinking this would help me transition slowly into fall. I bought this at the outlet store in town, and it is by Susan Graver. It was supposed to have a liquid knit shirt that it was sold with, but I only ended up with the vest. Here are a few more vests that are more geared to the fall and winter.

Vest: Houndstooth | Faux Shearling | Color Blocked50 IS NOT OLD | CAN YOU DANCE THE CHARLESTONI have on a couple of necklaces with this look. I am really liking the layered look with necklaces. The key necklace (Qunicy) is worn short in this look, but you can wear it long. And the long necklace (Jane) matches the key necklace perfectly because of the pearls and the chain. The bling “t” is not included with the long necklace, I bought that in Marietta, GA. It is by Monarch Inspirations, and some of their items are sold on Amazon. The dangle earrings I have one are fairly new, I don’t know if I have worn them on the blog before. They are called the Kasia, and they are made out of the same burnished gold material.50 IS NOT OLD | CAN YOU DANCE THE CHARLESTONThe light blue pearl bracelet is a little hard to see. It is called the Mara, and it is made with these light blue pearls and dangling leaves. It has a matching necklace and earrings, which I have, but have never worn. Today is the last day to enter for the $25.00 Plunder gift certificate that I am giving away on September 1st. Everyone who makes a purchase from me in the month of August will be entered. Every time you make a purchase, your name goes in the drawing. Here is the plunder website: http://www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens that will have you shopping with me. Try copying and pasting this in the address line, and hopefully it will work. If not, then type in my stylist number 241007 in the stylist box at checkout. I have started an online party, and there is a dropdown box where you can choose Tania’s P Party at checkout also. Some ladies have reported some issues ordering from me, so if you have concern’s send me an email to fiftyisnotold@gmail.com.50 IS NOT OLD | CAN YOU DANCE THE CHARLESTONMy dark denim ankle pants are by Karen Kane. They have plenty of stretch in the material, (aka spandex) without losing their shape. Don’t you hate it when you wear a pair of pants, you stand up and it looks like you have to big knots on your legs. Stirrup pants used to be the worst!!! I have on just a simple pair of navy Tommy Hilfiger T-Strap sandals. I like the simplicity of the sandals, sometimes simple is better.

Denim Ankle Pants: Similar | Similar | Plus

Simple Sandals: Similar | Similar | Similar50 IS NOT OLD | CAN YOU DANCE THE CHARLESTONBecause the vest had streaks of dark, and the denim ankle pants were dark, I went with a light top. The vest has streaks of pink running through it, so I paired it with this blush pink top by Loft. I think a lighter blue colored top would have looked nice also. I think they sold this vest with a bright blue top, but that is a little colorful even for me. Haha

Blush Top: Similar | Similar | Similar | Plus50 IS NOT OLD | CAN YOU DANCE THE CHARLESTONThat does it for this hump day’s look, with the exception of my white tote. This is not a “brand” name purse, so I will link a couple similar ones for you. (Here and Here)

I have been looking at the forecast for this weekend in Panama City, Florida, and it is dismal. I think they should name the Tropical Storm that is moving through, Tania. What do you think??? I guess it is time to pack these shoes for the music festival.

Today is a very special day. Today is my Granny Meadow’s 103rd Birthday!!!

So, can you dance the Charleston, because my granny can! This video was taken when she was ONLY 97, AND after we had spent the entire day WALKING around the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. She might have been a little unsteady, but she was having a blast!

Anytime you would like to share my posts on Facebook or Twitter, I would appreciate that. It helps get my blog out to more people, and I am sure you just want to spread the entertaining sayings I have. Lol!

Big hands up to granny Meadow’s ! Something for us all to aim for. Being able to do that at such an age. I’m not looking forward to that cold weather either Tania! And outdoor photos are so much harder to achieve too. No, not looking forward to it at all x

As they say, you’re only as old as you feel and it would appear that Granny still feels quite young. The Labor Day weekend does sort end the summer but in my area we are still baking well into October. I long for cooler weather. The colors in your vest are gorgeous and it will look great layered over a long sleeve top or light sweater when the temps start to dip. Thanks for hosting!

Hehe Tania – you sound like me with the heater. You need to beam yourself to Switzerland as we are still having hot temperatures during the day – smile!

Love your hump day look very cute.

I’m preparing for Fall today with a blog about the Embroidery trend – have you got an item of clothing with Embroidery yet? You might like to check out:

Your granny is an inspiration. Congrats to her. My husband always says “if you don’t use it you’ll lose it”….she’s still got it. I will say Tania, that you inspired me with some absolutely beautiful color combos this summer and summer is my least favorite season. Most of your readers dread that summer is coming to an end. I’m one of your readers that Autumn is my absolute favorite season. I do not like summer clothes and do not like showing skin. However, you encouraged me with your daily summer attire. I am so ready for Autumn and the crisp cool mornings with the pumpkin spice scents…..bring it own.🍁🍂🍃~Lisa~

Wish your Granny a wonderful birthday for me! What a blessing she must be in your life and to others!

Love the outfit and it’s inspired me to pull out a chiffon vest I own to pair with my outfit. You are so right the season is coming to an end so I’ll enjoy every day with light weight clothes until the snow flies. Still don’t like that stuff except on Christmas day!

    Have a good one.

Happy Birthday Granny! My grandmother passed away several years ago at the age of 97. She was living with my parents and active until the day before she died! She visited the hairdresser every Friday and always cared about the way she looked!! God bless your Granny!

Granny has done great. She fell when she was 101 and broke her hip. She has recovered nicely, but uses a wheelchair now. She could always wear everyone out when we went shopping. Lol!

Happy birthday to your sweet granny! “Fabulousness” runs in your family.

That tropical storm will hopefully move on by Saturday morning and not ruin your whole weekend.

I’ve lived on the Gulf Coast my whole life, even when my husband was transferred. I love summer and hot weather!! I’m with you…I need a heater most of the time.
