HIS AMAZING GRACE

50 Is Not Old | Amazing GraceToday is Easter Sunday, and we have so much to be thankful about. Number one on the list is, He is alive and so are you. Because He has risen from the grave, we now have a chance at eternal life. I look at my own children, and wonder at the sacrifice that was made for us. How God gave his son, so that we can live. How humbling is that? There is no way we could ever be worthy of the amazing grace that our Lord has bestowed upon us.50 Is Not Old | Amazing Grace

I wanted to tell you a little story that happened when we were in Tennessee last week. We had finished setting up for the fashion show, and had decided to do a little shopping in the next town over. My mother was in bad need of some clothing, and you have to drag her to go shopping. So, we kidnapped her, and off we went. She came back with a huge haul, and everything fit. Woot woot! Anyway, mom had left her car back at the church, were the show would take place, so we were on our way back to the car. I was talking to Bertha and Sandy, and my mom looked up and said, “Is this the exit?” In my mind I heard her, but the words didn’t quite register because I was talking. All of a sudden the words, “this exit” penetrated my mind. I quickly swerved off the highway, and my mother said, “why are you getting off here, this is the wrong one?” Okay, no problem, we will just jet across the road and get back on the highway and get off on the next exit. When we got to the bottom of the exit ramp, we had to stop because there was another car in front of us trying to turn. I looked over and there was this young man, probably in his 20’s, sitting under the stop sign. He was opening up a McDonald’s bag, and was starting to eat. When I say eat, if was more like woofing. It was like watching an animal that had not eaten in days, how they eat without chewing. I started digging in my purse, and the others asked what I was doing. They had not seen the boy. When I told them, then everyone was coming up with money. We rolled down the windows, and Bertha and Sandy called him over and handed him out the money. He was extremely happy. All he could keep saying was, “Bless You, Bless You.” I am not telling you this story to make you think I am generous or a good person, in fact I have become callus when it comes to seeing people at the bottom of ramps or at corners, with their little signs. I have heard so many horror stories about how they make good money off people, and are just taking us suckers for a ride. But this young man had no sign, he wasn’t asking for anything. I told the others, as we started back on our way, that we did not get off on that exit by mistake. The Lord directed us that way!!! I firmly believe he made this happen for a reason. This was his amazing grace, not only to the young man who was so obviously in need, but to us who have become in-sensitive to the plight of others.50 Is Not Old | Amazing Grace

Praise the Lord He is risen! So many people don’t want to discuss death. But because He died for US in OUR place we are forgiven of our sins and can have eternal life.

Sometimes we think we are at the wrong place but if we will listen we will find God has put us there for a reason. Thank you for “listening” to God so that you were able to bless that man.

I really enjoy your posts and your style.

    🙂

Wonderful story! Indeed the Lord directs our steps. After Bible study one day, the waitress told our group how these high school kids who had a half day had stiffed her on the bill. All of us opened our wallets hoping no one saw us and I’m sure we more than made up the cash those kids cheated her on. All we wanted was for her to experience the love of Jesus! He is alive IN US!

Happy Easter to you and yours. You have been a true blessing to me. I have been in need of this blog. I know it sounds silly but I feel like part of your blog “family” and with both of my children off to college I have had trouble finding my groove and other ladies who share my passions for the Lord AND fashion. Some other believers can make me feel shallow because I enjoy shopping and fashion. Thank You.

Tania, you are so right. God did plan for his angels to turn and help this young man that day. I hope and pray that he is in a better place now, and life will get better for him. What a blessing for him and a blessing for me too 🙂 Thanks for sharing! Your dress is very pretty too 🙂

Omg I just read this post for the very first time and you are right that was not a simply coincidence. You where directed to miss your exit so you could bless that young man. I should know some time ago my very own son was that man but many miles away. By the Grace of God he is much better today. We need to be more sensitive to Gods Guidance. Have a great day!
