NOT ALL FRIDAYS ARE GOOD

50 Is Not Old | Not All Fridays Are GoodI debated with myself whether to post today or not, because of Good Friday. I didn’t want to appear callus to the supreme sacrifice made on this day, but at the same time, this is a fashion blog. So in the end I decided to do both. A fashion blog in the beginning, and a tribute as the ending.50 Is Not Old | Not All Fridays Are GoodI am back in front of my plain ole brick wall. Nothing very pretty to look at, and no gorgeous view. But I guess it will do just fine. I am all decked out in pastels, and I like it. I have never been one who liked pastels and have steered clear of most of them. However, I bought this top at the QVC outlet store, and just fell in love with the color and the material. It is very soft, and very high quality. I really like the two pockets for an added detail. This is Linea by Louis Dell’Olio, and here are some similar ones in misses and plus sizes.

50 Is Not Old | Not All Fridays Are GoodThe pink in the scarf and the pink of the bag coordinate well. This is what I call “put together.”
50 Is Not Old | Not All Fridays Are GoodOnce again I think the scarf makes this outfit. This scarf screams spring. I love the colors and the print on the scarf. I bought it from Old Navy a couple years ago. Some of you have wondered about how to wear a scarf that is bulky. This scarf is on the bulky side, but I like it tied like this.
50 Is Not Old | Not All Fridays Are GoodI am still in love with my Vera Bradley tote.  The hot pink  tote is one that I will carry all spring and all summer. Here are a couple Vera bags in pink.

The shoes that I have on are Rocket Dog. Mine are a couple years old.  They have a distressed linen look. I bought mine at Shoe Sensation, I don’t know if they still carry them. But here are a couple Rocket Dog shoes that are similar.

50 Is Not Old | Not All Fridays Are GoodThe beige skinny ankle pants are old ones from Old Navy. I can’t even remember when I bought these, they are that old. Beige or khaki can go with almost any color or print. If you do not already own a pair, you need to buy one or maybe even two. Here are a couple pairs that I think you will like.

50 Is Not Old | Not All Fridays Are GoodHere is the outfit from the rear. Haha at least my hair looks combed. I have to thank you gurls for that, I now check the back of my hair before I leave the house. It is incredible that it took a blog to have me look at the back of my head. Lol!50 Is Not Old | Not All Fridays Are Good

Today is Good Friday. A solemn day when the death of Jesus Christ is commemorated. With such a terrible act happening on that day, I have often wondered why anyone would call it good. I understand that Jesus suffered and died to give us the promise of ever lasting life, but I still can’t wrap my head around calling it good. So, I googled it. The best explanation that I found it this. The word good is an antiquated meaning of holy. Now, that makes sense. Holy Friday I can understand. Other names for Good Friday is, Passion Friday and Sacred Friday. I found a pin on Pinterest this morning that sums up the next couple of days. 3days

  1. I love the pastels and you look sensational! I have a similar tote in plum that I adore! Thanks so much for your fashion blog AND your message. May the blessings of Easter surround us all and bring our world to peace!

  2. Thank you for blogging today! I enjoy reading it before the day starts. Good Friday is the most solemn day on the Christian calendar but it takes us to the most joyous and important Easter. Bless you and your family!

  3. Thank you for sharing your faith. I too have wondered why we would call it good. Holy makes sense. Pastels look so pretty and remind me of Easter! Have a lovely day and know that the blog really inspires me.

  4. Well written post! Love your thoughts and outfit. I’m headed to the QVC Outlet in May for a ‘visit’ and can’t wait for the deals I will find. Have a blessed day!

    • Is the top item number A213621? I’ve been looking around the QVC site and don’t see the lovely aqua you have but will watch for it. I am very tempted to pick it up in the pink, hoping it’s true to size and a medium work. Just wish it was on clearance!

      • I looked on QVC for the top before I posted, and I couldn’t find the exact one either. That one is similar, except for the color and the material of mine is a thick cotton. But the pink is really pretty.

  5. I just recently discovered your blog and find it refreshing! Technically I’m not in the “50’s” group, I’m 63 but on my 50th birthday I had an “Unbirthday Birthday” and took 10 years off! Love the way you tied your scarf over the T-shirt. Thank you for sharing your style and your faith – loved the explanation of Good Friday, I always wondered that myself.

  6. One of my favorites. You look amazing in the blue. I have been checking other fashion blogs…….your are still my very favorite! Happy Easter!

  7. Love this blog. I set the picture of the crosses as my desktop. This is truly a sad day that leads to our promise of a home in heaven if we confess God as our savior and repent of our sins. Thank God for his mercy and grace.

  8. I recently discovered your blog and really enjoy your humor! I’m wondering if you have ever posted YOUR body deminshions for size reference? Also, I, too, loved the devotion and picture. Holy Friday, indeed!

  9. You always look beautiful and flawlessly put together! Thanks for your comments on Good Friday and the post from Pinterest . Very meaningful! and so very true. Praise Jesus for His sacrifice for us that we may be forgiven our sins and know Him personally as our Savior!

  10. Love your whole outfit. Scarf is so pretty. What color nail polish are you wearing? Very nice neutral color. Would be perfect to wear with my Easter dress. Enjoy your posts so much. Have a wonderful weekend.

    • I am not sure Sharon what the color is. I looked on the bottle at the nail salon, but I could not find the name. Sorry.

  11. Beautiful outfit today! I check your blog every day and when I first saw this picture I went wow that’s special. It’s a favorite of mine.
Today’s good to me, because we know the rest of the story. 😉

  12. Tania, you always look beautiful. Pastels are hard for me to wear too, but the light blue looks great on you and the scarf really pulls the whole outfit together. And I agree with you about the “good” in Good Friday, but I try to remember that it was because of the cross that I have a relationship with God the Father and to me that is what makes it good. Have a lovely Easter. – Amy –

  13. Good Friday to you Tania… I know what you mean about why would we call it Good Friday? But it does lead to something REALLY GREAT, huh? I’m so thankful for the ultimate sacrifice so we can be washed clean!
You look absolutely beautiful in the pastel colors. I’m not a pastel wearer (is that a word?) but if I had a bright colored scarf with it, that could work. Anywho, I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend 🙂

  14. ok Tania….is this QVC outlet in our area, since ya know I live close to you? I absolutely love this Vera Bradley bag.

  15. Hi Tania….love the outfit and thankful you did a Good Friday post too….the cross is a beautiful touch.

I’m wanting to know the beautiful nude beige color you wear on your nails? Is it acrylic powder or gel polish or just a regular polish color? Would love to know details!

    Thank you,
    Lisa

    • Would you mind asking the color of shellac or maybe posting pic of bottle? I’d soooo appreciate it. I struggle with finding a nice nude shade most are too tan or orangey!

  16. Lovely Easter message and a great outfit. Wish I had it in my closet! Thank you for sharing both on Holy Friday. Think I’ll start calling it that.

  17. Thanks for your post. And it is a blessing to learn more about this day, I too had wondered about the reason for “Good” being used to define this day. I love your blog, and the outfits you put together. Thanks again, your fellow TN girl!

  18. Love ran red. But on the third day, everything was okay.

I struggle on Holy Week, knowing what our Lord went through. Everything changes on Sunday. Have a blessed Easter! (Love you in the pastel blue, BTW.)

  19. I agree. “Holy” sums it up. I know that was the plan. Such a great love for us that He took on our sins, died for us so that we could have life. JUST BELIEVE IN HIM!
I love the color combo. You nailed the look. Keep up the good work. Been following you for a while now.
