The Top New Years Resolutions

It is that time of the year. The time when we look back on the past year, and at the same time, look forward to the coming year. Some people always make resolutions at the beginning of the year, and others just go with the flow. I was reading that 95% of all resolutions fail. That means that 5% make the cut. That is great! That just means we need to have a BUNCH of resolutions, and the odds that at least one will “stick” is pretty good. Here is a list of some of the top resolutions to help you with your selections.

A Holiday Outfit With Sparkle

DSC_0080Have you ever heard the saying, “A day late and a dollar short”? I think whoever coined that saying, must have known me. This outfit was my Christmas Eve outfit, and I meant to have it on the blog then, but I didn’t take the computer that had the pictures loaded on it to my mom and dad’s. Therefore, you get to see them now.  Tada!

Hunter Boots on Day Mountain

DSC_0051It is always lots of fun to visit Mom and Day. Well, at least it is fun for me. I believe my husband and son would not go straight to fun. They are bored beyond belief. They only make the trek once a year, so I don’t have that much sympathy.

How To Style Over The Knee Boots

DSC_0010I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I have made the trip to Tennessee to my parents house. It was monsoon type weather the whole trip. It POURED the rain. I can not stress how hard it rained. It was terrible, terrible, driving weather. I am glad my husband did the driving, it was stressful. Just as we got off the Interstate, the skies turned blue. I took that as a welcoming sign.

The Day Before The Night Before Christmas

DSC_0015Christmas has always been one of my favorite holidays. Of course, everyone loves getting gifts, but it has always been the decorations that I loved. I used to put up a Christmas tree in EVERY room, including the bathrooms. Most would be store-bought trees, but I usually had at least one real tree. My daughter even counted all the “trees” that I had in the living room one year. There was around 20 or more trees of some type. Lol!

A Rebel And A Renegade

DSC_0006How will you be spending your Christmas? Do you have any traditions? It is sad to say that at this time in my life, we don’t have any set tradition. When I was young we always went to my grandparents house, on my father’s side, on Christmas Eve. He is one of 6 children, so not a small family. They were a musical family, with most of my grandfathers brothers all playing  the fiddle and guitar. Also, my uncles play and sing. It was always so enjoyable as a child to gather together. However, I got married, and my husband’s family had their own tradition for Christmas Eve. So, we always celebrated with his mother. His mother however, passed away this past February, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s, and we are still coming to terms with that.  Last year, because Christmas Eve fell on Wednesday and that is church night, my father’s side of the family decided to celebrate on Saturday after Christmas. It was the first time in over 25 years that I got to celebrate with all my family. Everyone had so much fun, we are going to celebrate again this year on Saturday the 26th. This may be a new tradition in the making.

Want, Need, Wear, Read

DSC_0015_2Christmas is now upon us. If you don’t have all your shopping done, what are you waiting on??? Get out there, bite the bullet, get in gear, or just give cash. I’ve been thinking about something I wrote about a while back. You should give something they want, something they need, something to wear, and something to read.

How To Wear A Vintage Coat

DSC_0020You can close your mouth now. Haha  Do you like this coat as much as I do? The minute I saw this coat, I fell in love.  This was one of the outfits in the vintage fashion show that was held in Atlanta. Since the coat was being worn by a model in the show, it would be priced, and then open for bids. Sometimes, you are lucky and no one else bids against you. I was not that lucky with this coat. The model wearing it really wanted it, and kept telling me to be quite. Like that was going to happen. Lol!  Well, you can see who came home with the coat 🙂
