I have never given much thought about wearing black and brown together. I just assumed that if a leopard looked that good wearing black and brown, I could too. This is what I wore to work last Monday. This is a pretty simple look. Take a black sweater, camel colored pants, and a leopard print shoe, and you’ve got an outfit. But, does black and brown really go together? I did a google search and found that nobody really knows. Some say yes, others say no way, and still others say it all depends. There is even a fashion challenge to post your outfit wearing the two together.
This sweater is a Ralph Lauren sweater that I picked up at T.J. Maxx. I really liked the little silver horseshoe detail on the shoulder of the sweater. The pants are the Harper style from Old Navy. I bought them about a month ago, and really liked them. However, they don’t fit me very well now. They got baggier as the day wore on. Here is a picture after I got home from work.
Okay, lets concentrate on what’s right about this look. You gotta love the shoes with this! I mean it’s “leopard”, enough said. They are a cute little kitten heel shoe that I got at Cato’s.
The little clutch is vintage and adorable.
The clutch help to bring the colors of the outfit together. It is made with feathers and is very vibrant in person. I actually have a little hat that matches the clutch, but I don’t really look good in hats. These are both vintage finds that I have had for years.
I have decided to see if I can come up with another black and brown outfit, so stay tuned for part 2. Beckley and I hope to see you then.
