My very first makeup review! I am sure I do not need to remind anyone, but I am not an expert when it comes to makeup. I do however, have an opinion on, well pretty much everything. So, let’s get started.
Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Palette. This is actually my first Kat Von D purchase, but it will not be my last. I have several neutral eye shadows, and was really hesitant about this purchase. I had been wanting a good matte palette and after watching Jaclyn Hill where she raved about this one, I thought -why not? After all, who can disagree with Jaclyn? She is the “Queen” in my eyes when it comes to makeup. But, she is young, and makeup that looks good on her, might not translate to aging skin.
Here are the shades. You can see they have three different sections. You can mix and match, and do not have to stay in the individual sections. I did use a primer first, Urban Decay’s Anti-Aging Primer. The shadow glides on easily and feels buttery or velvety. That is a quality that is super important when your skin is, let’s say not young. The colors are really saturated and you do not have to keep going back into the pot for more coverage. In fact, use a light hand with any of the darker colors, a little goes a long way. You can purchase this from Sephora for $46.00. That calculates out to be $3.83 for each shade. You won’t find many, if any, drug store brands that will be much cheaper. Overall, you can’t go wrong with this palette. I give it a 4.5 out of 5. I only took off .5 for the lack of a eyeshadow brush.
